Yup "another" electric bill thread

hi everyone! just thought i'd make my first post about electric bills since i been lurking for about 2 weeks and have seen how you like them so much:razz: anyway... can a HID light be dimmed with a dimmer switch? if yes is there some sort of electronic dimmer that can be set to increase the voltage over, oh, maybe an hour that way people won't have to be worried about the sudden spike associated with the 12/12 light cycle? or maybe the ballast has to put out full volts to star
